Well, if you are one of the fortunate few to have a UK paperback copy of The Malifex, hang on to it! The publishers, Floris, have decided in their infinite wisdom to pulp all remaining stocks. Due to a 'communications hiccup' (I'm being generous here) I didn't even get chance to buy up what was left. So, if you have it, it may just be worth a fortune one day. Or not.
Of course, the lovely US hardback is still available from all good bookshops (or Amazon, at least).
In other news, there is still no news. Not about Personal Demons, anyway. Other projects are rumbling onwards, including collaborations with Nick Sharratt and Leo Hartas (both maddeningly talented chaps in their different ways). And I'm hoping to do something with a very talented Italian comic artist, Daniele Serra.
So, interesting times. And I may have an announcement to make about a very exciting non-writing project soon - watch this space!

Mea culpa...
Ahhh, it was bound to happen, wasn't it? I started this blog with such good intentions, but I always had a nagging doubt that I would run out of enthusiasm, and it seems to have happened.
A complete lack of news about the progress of my current project (Personal Demons - remember that?) and its fate in the hands of various publishers has left me with little positive news to report. And various non-writing related ("real life" - remember that?) situations have meant that my on-line profile has been very low recently.
Anyway, just to recap on the last few months, in case anybody still turns up here - the MS is still in the hands of 2 publishers, where it has languished for the last 4 months. Yes, that's more than a quarter of a year. But that's acceptable, of course, because it's publishing...
I did have one response - the most glowing rejection my agent had ever seen. The guy loved the book to bits, but wasn't going to publish it. If his reply had been a review, I would have framed it and put it on my wall...
Anyway, the Personal Demons project sensu lato continues to go from strength to strength, with new people contacting us all the time wanting to participate. Hopefully we have found someone with a web presence who would like to help us implement some of our wilder on-line ideas. Details will follow, if it all comes together.
The pop-up book about the human digestive system (see previous blog entries) is done and due out in September, and we're now working on the sequel - blood, breathing, that kind of thing.
And I've been asked to work on another illustrated project, though I can't say much about it at the moment. Except there's a wizard in it.
Finally, the electrician I raved about previously, who wired up my shed, turned out to be a thieving con-man who left a deliberate fault in the system in the hope of getting more business out of me. Or my surviving relatives assuming I had been fried in my shed. Faith in British workmen at an all-time low. And that's pretty low.
Anyway, that's that. Apologies to any of my faithful readers who have missed my nuggets of wisdom on here. Hopefully after this week, and definitely after a forthcoming holiday, I will return to the blogosphere refreshed.
